Ruan, Xing-Shan (1891 - 1974), his style name is Mu-Shi; Tuo-Weng is his literary name. Resident of Hangzhou, Zhejiang. County student of Qiantang in Qing Dynasty. Used to be a section chief and a secretary of the Police Department of Zhejiang Province; the chief of staff of the Department of Engineering of Zhejiang Province; the chief of staff of Department of Finance of Jiaxing County; the audit and secretary of the head office of China General Commercial Bank; and etc. He was good at poem composition, and painting especially depicting plum blossoms. He was a member of West Ling Inscription Society. His books include "Collection of Modern Painters from Zhejiang", "A Survey of Customs in Hangzhou", "Plum Blossoms Painted by Ruan, Xing-Shan", and "Collection of Poems from Mu-Shi's House".
