About the Artist
Born in the exotic region of Xingjiang in China, Lei Zhang Shanbhag came to the United States in 1989, and studied Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota. She pursued painting full-time from 1994 to1996, and had several exhibitions in New York and New Jersey.
Artist's Statement
Through my work, I am attempting to project the fact that there is a universe, which is moving in its own rhythm in numerous dimensions (some of which are known and others are not). They create and recreate themselves and the elements bring with them beauty and mystery.
